About

Education and work are the levers to uplift a people. Work alone will not do it unless inspired by the right ideals and guided by intelligence. Education must not simply teach work–it must teach Life.

“UNITY”: The state of being one. + The Talented TENTH: An essay about the power of combining education & work. = UNITY TENTH:  A name to symbolize the power of bringing people together to make the world a better place!

I created Unity Tenth to be a resource to give people the tools they need to improve their way of life while affecting the lives of others and inspiring them to do the same.

Your organization and my freelance web consulting business has that same goal.  You want to improve the way of life for a specific group; and I want to give you the tools to help you to do so.

Meet the Designer:

That’s me, Brandon!

My name is Brandon Tabor, and I’m the founder of Unity Tenth.  All of my life, I’ve been in positions of service.  I grew up in church where I learned how to serve God.  I stayed in a small town in Arkansas where I served the community in many different ways (Boy Scouts, Drama Club, Band, Positive Impact, African American Achievers).

Later I went to school for Mass Media at Henderson State University (aka “The School with a Heart”… go figure) where I served my school and community even more though Alpha Phi Omega (National Service Organization), Tau Beta Sigma (National Band Service Organization), KSWH 102.5 FM (at the time, 99.9 FM), Henderson Television, Angelic Voices of Christ, A Fellowship Community Choir… just to name a few.  My name was involved in so much that the late HSU President Charles Dunn awarded me with the local Rotary Club’s Ray-of-Light award for outstanding community service.

I designed this a couple of days after I graduated. I had a little time on my hands, lol.

It was my time at Henderson (2003-2008) when I saw media was headed toward the internet and how important the medium was going to be.  I started tinkering with designing and building websites for APO, AVOC, and my home church as just a fun hobby.  I taught myself how to use various codes (HTML, CSS, etc).  That education proved useful in Graduate School at Arkansas State University (2008-2010) when I was asked to assist in showing students (and some professors) how to build and design web pages (and no, I wasn’t on Faculty).

When I started volunteering for the nonprofit Voice of Arkansas Minority Advocacy Council as a DJ for their community radio station, KLEK, I found myself being drawn to their website and redesigning it.  It was then that I realized that I not only enjoyed working on websites, I enjoyed doing them mostly for nonprofit organizations and small businesses.

I not only want to help organizations grow more online, but as a former president of a nonprofit organization I want to provide an affordable and positive experience for you, my members and guests.

So, enough about me, I want to learn about you!  If you’re ready to take the next step and grow more, please reach out to me for a free consultation to help you decide your organization’s online needs.

What’s My Mission?

The mission of Unity Tenth is to connect nonprofit organizations and small businesses to the power of the internet to help them tell their story, find like-minded individuals, and fulfill their mission.

My Values

  • Honesty – Consequences of the truth is a lot better than the constant consequences of a lie.
  • Trust – It’s one of the biggest cornerstones of human relationships. Without trust, there’s no connection.
  • The “Golden Rule” – Treat others the way you want to be treated. Do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do. I’m sure you get the picture.
  • Grow More – Life is change. Change is life. Life without change is no life at all. In other words, we (including myself) have a responsibility to embrace change & keep growing so that we can inspire others to make a change in their world.
  • Live Simply Smart – Life is complicated enough. We should try to keep our lives simple (it’s the Arkansan in me, lol).

The Fun Stuff:  My Hobbies

I’m not all work.  I have some hobbies, too!  I’m a little bit of a gamer.  I enjoy mostly platformers (Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog just to name a few).  Every now and then, I like to read, mostly about business & self-improvement.  Finally, I’m a musician.  I enjoy playing the piano (but I’m a drummer at heart).  If you want to get to know me a little bit more, visit my LinkedIn profile!
